Halal Assurance System (HAS)

Halal Assurance System in Malayan Flour Mills Berhad (MFM) Group starts with full management commitment to assure halal intergrity of products starting from the point of receiving raw materials until the dispatch of finished goods to customers. Three (3) Internal Halal Committees (IHC) namely in MFM Lumut and MFM Pasir Gudang and in the Poultry Processing plant in Lumut are spear headed by a Muslim Executive Director, advised and assisted by a competent Professional Halal Executive.

MFM and Dindings Poultry Processing Sdn Bhd (Dindings) have adopted the internationally recognised Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles for its flour milling and poultry processing. The plants are designed in a manner to reduce and minimise the possible risk of food contamination and eliminating contaminant by non-halal items. Process parameters are recorded and controlled on regular basis and product quality checks are performed according to hazard analysis involved in the processing.

Through the implementation of HAS/HACCP/FSMS, MFM and Dindings will ensure the processes are free from potential hazard or haram sources in the raw materials/ ingredients. The system has considered food safety, quality and cleanliness at each level of production. It provides a systematic approach to ensure and preserve halal integrity of products. This is based on the concept of effective recall procedure, traceability, availability of a proper filing system for halal applications, documents, procedures and records with quality management system throughout the supply chain.

To support the implementation of HAS/HACCP/FSMS system, MFM and Dindings have adopted the Halalan Thoyibban and the Wholesomeness in its manufacturing process and environment.
